Recipe for Viking “Vlammetjes” from the Barbecue
Time: 40 minutes
Number of persons: x
Pan: VH25H, VH25, VH30H, VH30, VH.WOK36
Ingredients:
- 2 shallots
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
- 500 grams minced meat
- 6 tablespoons Viking Rub (VH.RUB2)
- 1 red pepper
- 2 tablespoons Ketjap Manis
- Small spring roll sheets
Preparation:
- Defrost the spring roll sheets in its packaging for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the barbecue to 220°C (indirect heat). Remove the grill from the barbecue and line it with baking paper.
- Peel and chop the shallot, peel the garlic and chop it and the red pepper.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the shallot and garlic for 2 minutes.
- Add the minced meat, finely chopped red pepper and Viking rub and fry for 5 minutes until loose.
- Add Ketjap Manis, and stir well. Remove the pan from the heat.
- Remove the spring roll sheets from the packaging and store under a damp tea towel to prevent drying out.
- Place a spring roll sheet in front of you with a point down, creating a diamond.
- Spoon a tablespoon of the filling just below the centre of the sheet.
- Fold the bottom tip of the spring roll sheet over the filling. Now fold the sides inwards over the filling and roll the spring roll sheet closed.
- Brush the folding side lightly with oil and place the Vlammetje side down on the grid lined with baking paper. Also lightly brush the top of the Vlammetje with oil.
- Place your grill in the barbecue and bake the Vlammetjes for 8 to 12 minutes until brown and crispy.
- Serve the Vlammetjes with chilli sauce.
Tip: If you only have large spring roll sheets at home, you can cut them into quarters.
