The VH8L Dutch Oven is made of cast iron. Cast iron is an ideal material, because it is suitable for any heat source, can be heated to a high temperature and retains the heat very well.
The design of this Dutch Oven is well thought-out, and real attention has been paid to its multi-purpose use and ease of use. The VH8L is a Dutch Oven without feet on the bottom. Because the bottom is flat, you can easily use it in your (kamado) barbecue, but also indoors on your cooker or in your oven. Would you like to use your Dutch Oven in such a way that it needs feet on the bottom? You can easily solve this by using the VH23G from Valhal Outdoor. If you put your Dutch Oven on top of this, you have created legs for your Dutch Oven with a flat bottom. The lid can be used upside down as a skillet and because the lid has legs, you can place it directly on the heat source without 'smothering' the heat.
All Valhal Outdoor cast iron has already been pre-treated with a natural oil. You do not need to do this yourself before using the cast iron for the first time, but we always recommend treating cast iron once more. If you take good care of cast iron, it can last a lifetime. To ensure a long life, we recommend regularly treating your pan with VH.WAX. Specially designed for cast iron care and seasoning.
